Liverpool have recently been linked with RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.
Norwegian broadcaster Jan Aage Fjortoft does not believe that Liverpool will sign Upamecano in the January transfer window.
Fjortoft added that Upamecano has a release clause of €42 million.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Upamecano would be a very good signing for Liverpool, and we will explain why.
Despite the fact that Upamecano is only 22 years of age, he has made 134 senior appearances for RB Leipzig. Upamecano’s development has ultimately been fast-tracked as a result.
The aforementioned figure highlights that Upamecano is an experienced player for someone who is still quite young.
Upamecano is a player that still has plenty of football ahead of him because of his age.
In the Bundesliga this season, the centre-back is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.84.
Also, if Upamecano does have a release clause of €42 million, Liverpool would be saving money if they could sign him for the aforementioned fee. Upamecano has a current market value of €60 million.
