Edwards is determined to carry on at Kenilworth Road, despite seeing his side struggle throughout this season.
Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has revealed that he won't walk away from his job, speaking after Wednesday afternoon's 1-0 home loss against Norwich City.
He made these comments via the Irish News, amid the Hatters' huge struggles this season.
Coming into the campaign, many Luton fans would have been hoping to see their side compete at the top end of the Championship table.
They finished in 18th place in the Premier League at the end of last term and managed to add some quality to their squad during the summer transfer window.
But they haven't been able to thrive at any point this term, struggling both at home and away from home during the 2024/25 campaign and finding themselves in 20th place.
They are in real danger of dropping into the bottom three at this point - and Edwards has been under pressure for quite some time.
Their current style of play isn't working, and most importantly, they aren't getting the results required to guide themselves away from relegation danger.
Portsmouth and Hull City may be below them at this stage, but the former have two games in hand and the Tigers will be hoping that new boss Ruben Selles can have a good impact at the MKM Stadium.
Edwards is under a huge amount of pressure at this stage - and no one will envy being in his shoes right now.
But he is keen to knuckle down and continue fighting at Kenilworth Road. As quoted by the Irish News, he said: "I’m realistic and I know the situation, I don’t fear that, I’m going to keep working hard and what will be will be.
"I’m not stepping away from this, I’m not walking away at all, it makes me want to turn things around.
It will be interesting to see whether Edwards is backed or sacked.
Gary Sweet and the rest of the board are known to make sensible decisions, especially on managers.
However, Edwards' time in Bedfordshire will need to come to an end at some point if he can't improve results.
The current formula isn't working and although you have to admire the Luton board's patience, there has to come a point where enough is enough, even though Edwards previously won promotion with the Hatters.
Edwards needs to get some wins on the board in the short term to give himself the best chance of keeping his job.
