Challenger Pro League side RWDM and Championship side Luton Town have announced that defender Christ Makosso has swapped the Belgian second tier for the English second tier. The Congolese defender, who cost the Brussels side just €100k during the 2023/2024 winter transfer window, has not had the length of his contract announced just yet by his new side. This may be because the club were waiting for his international clearance to go through on the 1st of January.
The 20-year-old Makosso joined RWDM during their recent Pro League relegation season from French side Sochaux. He made 10 appearances in the sides attempt to avoid dropping back down into the second tier. However, during their current Challenger Pro League season the Congolese defender has impressed. This has led to him earning a first senior call up to the Congolese national team during their recent AFCON qualification campaign.
RWDM are currently third in the table, nine points behind leaders Zulte Waregem. They are only five points off of surprise package RAAL La Louviere in the second automatic promotion spot.
