Premier League outfit West Ham United have identified a member of the attacking ranks at Sevilla as a leading transfer target with a view to the summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing English sources, who point towards Youssef En-Nesyri as the player in question.
Frontman En-Nesyri has of course been linked with West Ham on more than one occasion in the past, with the Irons understood to have seen a big-money proposal for his services rebuffed just last summer.
With the Moroccan, despite Sevilla’s troublesome campaign, having continued to produce at an impressive rate to the tune of 19 goals, though, the brass at the London Stadium are ready to return to the table.
This comes with the incoming Julen Lopetegui boasting first-hand experience of getting the very best out of En-Nesyri.
Spanish tactician Lopetegui, who is set to replace David Moyes in the West Ham dugout in the summer, oversaw the most prolific campaign of En-Nesyri’s career to date, when he racked up 24 goals during a shared spell together at Sevilla.
With the Nervionenses increasingly open to a sale ahead of the expiration of the 26-year-old’s contract next summer, and En-Nesyri himself eager for a new challenge, a move to West Ham could prove to be the best path forward for all parties involved over the months ahead.
