FLW's Birmingham City fan pundit has given his verdict on the links to signing Danny Namaso from Porto this summer

Birmingham City have been linked with a move for Porto forward Danny Namaso ahead of the end of the summer window.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, the 24-year-old has emerged on the Blues’ radar and is reportedly valued at €10 million (£8.6 million).
Chris Davies has overseen a busy summer of transfer activity since guiding the club to promotion back to the Championship.
Birmingham have acquired both Marvin Ducksch and Kyogo Furuhashi to accompany Jay Stansfield, although the sale of Alfie May to Huddersfield Town has left Davies in the market for another striker and they came agonisingly close to signing ex-Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom, who instead decided to join Ipswich Town despite Blues' agreement with parent club Ajax.
Now, Namaso - who formerly turned out in the Championship with Reading - has emerged as the latest reported target for the Second City side, although a concern has been raised.
When asked about the links to Namaso, FLW’s Birmingham fan pundit Jason Moore claimed that he’s willing to back the club if they want to sign him.
However, he is unsure whether the ex-Reading player is good enough to get regular minutes at St. Andrew’s, although he acknowledged the usefulness of his versatility as a forward.
“I don’t know tons about him, haven’t watched him a load, sort of remember him when he was at Reading, but again I trust the board, I trust the club,” Moore told Football League World.
“If this is the man they want to be a part of the squad, then I’m all for it.
“I guess the fact he can play across the front four is a big help, but I do wonder how much he would actually play.
“Let’s just wait and see, I personally think we’re going to go for a bigger name than that, or I might just be naive as a Blues supporter but I feel like I’d want something bigger and a bit better than that.
“Just to drag us over the line.
“But for all I know he could be a squad player.
“I’ll wait and see, if he comes let’s see what he does, I’ll back him.”
Up next for Birmingham is a trip to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on 16 August in a 3pm kick-off.
Namaso has spent the last three seasons at Porto, and has earned a regular level of minutes at a high standard of Portuguese football.
He’s contributed eight goals and six assists from 68 league appearances, and has proven a very versatile asset to the squad.
It would depend on the potential cost of a deal, but this is a move that could have some potential to add some extra attacking depth to the Birmingham squad.
And at 24, he is still a young player coming in the best years of his career, so he has the potential to make a decent impact in the Championship.
However, Porto's asking price is a steep one - even for a club with deep pockets like Birmingham - and they may want to try and lower the Portuguese giants' valuation first.
