Rotherham United boss Steve Evans has admitted there is ‘huge interest’ in goalkeeper Viktor Johansson, who has been linked with Leeds United and Stoke City.
Johansson has shone even in a struggling Rotherham team that have been relegated from the Championship this season.
With a release clause in the goalkeeper’s contract, Rotherham will be powerless to prevent his departure if clubs trigger it.
The clause total is thought to come to an initial £750,000 on account of the Millers’ relegation into League One.
Leeds have been , while Stoke City are also admirers as they eye summer strengthening.
Evans, who left Johansson on the bench at the weekend as he took a look at Dillon Phillips, admits that the likelihood is the Swede will go.
He is clear there is huge interest in Johansson.
“The chances are that, with the huge interest in him, Viktor will leave in the summer”, Evans was quoted as saying by the Star.
“It will probably be a life-changing move for the kid.”
Johansson, 25, has been capped by Sweden at international level and will likely not want to play in League One next term.
