Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque has today provided an insight into which of his teammates in Catalunya has surprised him most since his arrival at the club.

Frontman Roque, of course, sealed his long-awaited move to Barcelona during the winter transfer window.

Long regarded as one of the standout talents in his home country of Brazil, the 19-year-old’s transfer, initially pencilled in for the summer, was brought forward by six months.

Roque has since found game-time somewhat difficult to come by, but has nevertheless showcased flashes of his evident goalscoring prowess, en route to back-to-back strikes against Osasuna, and Alavés.

Not quite enough to earn him a spot in the Brazilian national team squad for the country’s latest round of fixtures, the attacker, in turn, has remained in Catalunya’s capital this week, to continue training alongside a threadbare group under the watch of boss Xavi.

Afforded some extra time off on Wednesday, though, Roque sat down for an interview with in-house media platform, ‘Barca Magazine’.

The youngster was drawn on a whole host of interesting topics during the discussion, but one, in particular, has since caught the eye.

Asked which member of Xavi’s squad has surprised him most with his talent, Roque, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, went on to name midfield all-rounder Frenkie de Jong:

“Surprises? It’s not that I didn’t expect it, but what I can see now is different from what I saw on television from afar and the player that has impacted me the most is Frenkie de Jong. He’s very good, and a great person too.”
