An insight into the regard in which Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque is currently held by head coach Xavi has on Saturday been forthcoming online.

And the info will no doubt come as a concern for those of a Barca persuasion desperate to see Roque afforded a chance to impress over the final weeks of the campaign.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of transfer insider Matteo Moretto that the 19-year-old is simply not viewed as being up to the required standard to play a regular part in boss Xavi’s matchday setup.

Roque, of course, has endured a difficult time of things since his January arrival in Catalunya’s capital, struggling for game-time behind the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

And, despite the recent pleas of the player’s agent, as much does not look like changing any time soon…

Speaking as part of his role on Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing this weekend, the aforementioned Matteo Moretto revealed that Xavi does not consider his young attacker to be in any way ready to challenge for a starting berth.

He is also not viewed as a viable alternative to any of the current options in Barca’s preferred frontline.

A fresh round of talks with Roque and his entourage, in turn, has been pencilled in for the coming weeks, to define the best course of action for next season.
