Following a 2-1 victory over Coventry City on Tuesday night, Ipswich Town now have one foot in the Premier League, and require just a point against all but relegated Huddersfield Town on Saturday to see themselves over the line and into the top-flight.

The Tractor Boys are on the verge of becoming the first team to win back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League since Southampton achieved that feat back in 2012, and boss Kieran McKenna will be looking to strengthen his squad this summer ahead of a potential first season in top-flight management.

Alan Nixon revealed via Patreon that the Suffolk outfit are interested in a move for 20-year-old Sheffield United striker Daniel Jebbison, and the Blades could be swapping divisions with the Tractor Boys, as their relegation was confirmed on the weekend with a 5-1 loss to Newcastle United.

Due to injuries, Jebbison has been unable to appear for the Blades this campaign, but he has shown sparkle in previous seasons, as he scored seven League One goals in just 20 appearances during a 2021/22 loan spell with Burton Albion.

Football League World's Ipswich fan pundit, Henry, said: "Through injury and illness, obviously he (Jebbison) hasn't played loads this season for Sheffield United.

"I think there were rumours of us looking at him on loan, before we got Dane Scarlett this season.

"He fits the mould in terms of what we're trying to do, but I think maybe that ship has sailed.

"I don't think it matters what division we're in, because with Hirst and Ali Al Hamadi, I think we've got that sort of young player now that we're trying to mould.

"If Jebbison can come in, or does come in and plays that left-wing role, maybe it is an option to bring him in.

"Obviously, on a free now, it makes a difference, and he has obviously got some serious ability.

"I just don't know whether the squad has got enough size for him, but if talent's there, and McKenna thinks he's worth adding to the squad list, I wouldn't be against it, mainly because it's a free, and because of his ability that he has shown in the past.

"He's got lots of years, so again, getting him on a free and then looking to sell him after a few good seasons could be very beneficial to the club, especially with FFP and whatever.

"I don't think it would be our priority this summer, but definitely one they'd look at."

Exciting times are up ahead for the Tractor Boys

Tuesday night's victory in Coventry means that a draw will do for McKenna's men, who face a poor Huddersfield Town outfit on Saturday lunchtime.

The Tractor Boys look almost certain to be celebrating their second consecutive promotion come 3pm on Saturday, and with the confidence and fearless playing style McKenna has instilled in his squad, they have the potential to do more than just make up the numbers in the Premier League, so avoiding relegation is a real possibility.
