Hansi Flick has revealed he has held clear-the-air talks with Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić over the head coach’s future.

Flick has been heavily linked with the German national job after Jogi Löw announced last week he will be stepping down after Euro 2020 this summer.

It has been reported in SportBILD that Salihamidžić isn’t happy that the 56-year-old has yet to rule himself out of the running the soon-to-be vacant position.

However, Flick confirmed to Sky Germany that the pair have set aside their differences.

“We both approached each other and created it, in line with each other’s interests.

“That was a short conversation.

“As far as that is concerned, we are both very optimistic for the rest of the season, for the future.”

Bayern booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 win over Lazio on Wednesday, sealing a 6-2 win on aggregate.
