The Bundesliga representatives in his season’s Champions League have found out their opponents for this season’s league phase.

Germany’s coefficient meant they only had four clubs in this season’s competition. The clubs in this edition are: Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund.

A refresh of how this league format works: Each club will play eight games, playing two teams home and away from each pot. There are four pots, and the four German teams are in the top two pots. Bayern and Dortmund are in Pot 1, while Leverkusen and Frankfurt are in Pot 2.

The exact fixtures and when they will be played will be released by Saturday, August 30th, as per The Athletic.

Reaction:

Out of all the Bundesliga sides, Frankfurt probably have the ‘hardest’ games. Die Adler have to play three league champions (Liverpool, Barcelona and Napoli) as well as Atletico Madrid, who are notoriously hard to play against, as well as a Tottenham side who look to be rejuvenated under Thomas Frank.

Other standout ties will be Bayern Munich against PSG in Paris, as well as their away tie in London against Arsenal. Leverkusen’s trip to Manchester will also see head coach Erik ten Hag return to the city.
