La Liga outfit Osasuna have this week been dealt an altogether untimely blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that star defender David García is in line for an upcoming spell on the sidelines.

Stopper García, for his part, lasted less than 20 minutes of Osasuna’s weekend defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano, before being forced to limp out of the action.

The 30-year-old, in turn, was put through a series of medical tests on Monday, to gather an understanding of the extent of the injury.

And the news, unfortunately from a Rojillos point of view, has proven to be far from positive.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms:

‘The medical tests that David García has undergone at the University of Navarra Clinic have confirmed that the footballer has a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his right leg, which will prevent him from competing with the team in the coming weeks. The captain will begin his recovery process tomorrow and his progress is pending.’

As confirmed in an ensuing report on the part of Mundo Deportivo, García is highly unlikely to take to the pitch again before the close of the campaign.
