According to The Herald, Taylor has accepted personal terms and signed a two-year contract, with an option for a third, to join the Greek side.

Out of contract since the end of last season, Taylor had been weighing his options following Brendan Rodgers’ confirmation that Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney would be returning to Celtic from Arsenal this summer.

PAOK manager Razvan Lucescu had made Taylor a top target for the upcoming summer window, and it now appears they have secured the 27-year-old on a free transfer.

Currently enjoying a family holiday in Dubai, Taylor – who has never played abroad – has now officially accepted PAOK’s offer, following major developments over the weekend. In February, Taylor and his partner Laura welcomed their first child, Ruvie. Having settled down, it appears the defender fancies a change in lifestyle.

Since arriving from Kilmarnock in 2019, the left-back featured in more than 200 games for Celtic, collecting five Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups, and three League Cup winners’ medals during his time at the club.

PAOK secured a third-place finish in the Greek Super League last season, earning a spot in the Europa League’s third qualifying round.

All the best to Greg in his new venture in Greece, so often he has been a player at Celtic who has been under-appreciated.

He was a regular throughout Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers’ side’s which tells you everything you need to know about the reliability and quality of Taylor.

Celtic will now need to adequately replace the outgoing defender – and likely expecting his departure – the Hoops hierarchy will have drawn up targets who will provide necessary backup to the incoming Tierney.
