Gianluigi Donnarumma is set to join Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain after a deal was agreed between the clubs, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The move comes as City prepare to sanction the exit of Ederson, who is poised for a switch to Turkish club Fenerbahce for a reported fee of around €14 millio
He was a key part of PSG’s treble-winning squad last season, but surprisingly fell out of favour at Parc des Princes due to a contractual dispute.
Having signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille to replace Donnarumma, Les Parisiens were initially holding out for €50 million but have now accepted an offer of an initial €30m plus add-ons.
With the transfer deadline fast approaching, Donnarumma will undergo his medicals in Italy and join his new teammates after the international break.
The 26-year-old is City’s second addition in the goalkeeping department this summer, following their earlier acquisition of James Trafford from Burnley.
Given his experience at the top level, Donnarumma is expected to be the first-choice goalkeeper for Pep Guardiola’s side.
They could really do with an elite shotstopper off the back of their rocky start to the 2025/26 Premier League season, which has yielded three points from three matches.
After a 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers to get the ball rolling, City have since lost to Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.
