German legend Mats Hummels’ La Liga switch ‘heating up’ | OneFootball

Veteran defender Mats Hummels is inching closer and closer to a move to La Liga.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Real Sociedad as the 35-year-old’s impending landing spot.

Hummels, for his part, has been tipped to take his talents to Spain throughout the summer transfer window to date.

Previously, it was RCD Mallorca who were labelled as closing on an audacious deal for the stopper, available as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Borussia Dortmund.

Recent weeks, however, have seen another La Liga outfit burst into the picture.

The outfit in question? Real Sociedad.

Amid an ongoing search for a replacement for Robin Le Normand, the brass at Anoeta are understood to have identified Hummels as the ideal profile.

In turn, as per a report from the aforementioned Relevo:

‘Mats Hummels, a defender who became a free agent at the end of July after not renewing his contract with Borussia Dortmund, is getting closer and closer to the team managed by Imanol Alguacil.’
