Gary Neville has established himself as one of the most respected pundits in football.
The Manchester United legend is never afraid to speak his mind, even if that means having a go at his former club.
However, if his playing career was anything to go by, then his career in broadcasting was always going to be a success.
As a no-nonsense right back, Neville was a crucial component in the domestic dynasty Sir Alex Ferguson built at Old Trafford.
During some of the club’s headiest days, Neville was often one of the first names on the team-sheet as United plundered trophy after trophy.
His searing passion for the club would eventually see him named captain and it was in that role that he truly became the leader he was born to be.

However, on the occasion of his birthday, we thought it would be as good a time as any to look back on one of the more iconic moments of Neville’s career and why it wound up costing him £10,000.
During a crucial 2006 clash with the old enemy, Liverpool, a late Rio Ferdinand winner saw Neville completely lose it as he celebrated wildly.
He took it to another level only seconds later when he intentionally sprinted to right in front of the travelling Liverpool fans, roared, punched the air, and kissed the United badge.
It’s that sort of behaviour that made Neville so dearly loved at Old Trafford and it’s a passion that just seems to be lacking from the modern-day United.
Speaking ten years after the manic celebration, Neville confirmed that it was worth every penny he had to pay in fines.
“It was worth a 120-match ban!,”
“It was probably one of the best moments because we were struggling at the time, we hadn’t won the league for three years and it just felt like one of the best moments we had in a couple of years.”
Now, with his playing days behind him, the 47-year-old is set on becoming one of the best pundits around and we just love having him on our screens.
