As Cristiano Ronaldo waved goodbye to the Bernabéu, many wondered whether Real Madrid would be able to fill the huge gap the Portugal superstar had left.

However, three games into the new season and it seems Los Blancos are coping just fine without the iconic number seven.

Of course, it is early days but Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have so far returned a similar goal return with seven strikes in three games between them.

Ronaldo, yet to score for new club Juventus in Serie A, scored 450 goals in 438 matches during his nine years in the Spanish capital which is an average of more than one goal per game.

Upto now, having beaten Getafe, Girona and Leganes, Real have scored eleven goals in three matches with Bale netting three goals and Benzema scoring four.

Considering the Frenchman managed just five goals in the 32 LaLiga games last season, it’s fair to say he’s stepped up to fill the void.

Meanwhile, his goal on Saturday saw him overtake Ronaldo with a different record – finding the net against Leganes means he has now scored against 33 different LaLiga clubs, one better than Ronaldo’s tally of 32.
