According to HLN, former Schalke 04 and Fortuna Düsseldorf striker Benito Raman has been told by Anderlecht that he is no longer guaranteed of a place in the side and can find a new club. This news came to the striker and his entourage around 24 hours before the transfer windows across the majority of Europe closed. It appears that, baring a move to one of the few markets that has remained open, Raman will be remaining with Anderlecht until January. This news may not come as a surprise to many outside of the club, given that it appeared that the 28-year-old was not going to be a first choice forward for Brian Riemer.
Raman began his career with Gent, before spells with Beerschot, Kortrijk and Sint-Truiden on loan. In the summer of 2016 he joined Standard Liege, where he scored six goals in 32 games for the club. Fortuna Düsseldorf then brought him in on loan for the 2017/2018 season, before making the move permanent in the summer of 2018. Raman was part of the Fortuna Düsseldorf that won promotion to the Bundesliga after winning Bundesliga 2, before finishing in mid table. His 11 goals in the Bundesliga attracted Schalke 04 to sign him in 2019. In 55 games for the side, Raman scored 12 goals. Anderlecht then brought him back to Belgium in the summer of 2021.
