Flamengo have a number of injury concerns ahead of Wednesday’s Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg at São Paulo.

The Rubro-Negro travel to the Morumbi 2-1 down from the first leg, and short on confidence after being held to a 1-1 draw in the league at home on Saturday by Atlético Goianiense.

It was confirmed on Sunday that Pedro, Gabriel Barbosa and Thiago Maia are all undergoing treatment.

Pedro was unlikely to be available for the cup tie due to international commitments, but the attacker was sent home early from the Brazil camp after sustaining an abductor injury.

Gabigol was replaced by Lincoln in the latter stages against Atlético after experiencing tightness in his right hamstring.

Maia had been substituted just after the hour mark due to a right knee sprain.

There has been no indication about how how serious those injuries are.

Recently appointed manager Rogério Ceni discussed the injury situation after Saturday’s game at the Maracanã.

“Rodrigo Caio, Diego and Filipe Luís should be available. We will have to evaluate Gabriel. Also Thiago Maia. [Mauricio] Isla,” Ceni told reporters.

He added: “Unfortunately we have a large number of experienced players with some problems.”

Ceni will need to register his first win as boss if Flamengo are to have any hope of progressing to the semi-finals.
