MIAMI – The fifth matchday in the 2024 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship took place on Friday, with the semifinals in Leagues A and B taking place while League C concluded its final round of matches in Round One.

League A is taking place in Alajuela, Costa Rica. League B matches are hosted in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, and League C encounters are held in Oranjestad, Aruba.

League A: USA and Mexico in the Final

The U.S. U-15 women’s national team reached the final after defeating Canada, 4-2, in a penalty shootout after tying 1-1 in regular time. Mak Whitham scored for the USA in the 35 '+1 and Christ-Mayron Bro for Canada in the 48’.

Mexico became the second finalist after a 3-2 victory over Costa Rica. Angellinne Avellana (36’), Evenlyn Contreras (50’) and Vanesa Paredes in the (70’) scored for the Mexicans.

Angie Alvarenga (6’), Zoe Castro (11’), Abigail Salgado (22’) and Laila Pacheco (29’) all scored to lift El Salvador to a win over Jamaica. Laren Franci (49’) scored the lone goal to push Puerto Rico past Haiti.

League A – Semifinals:

  • United States 1-1 Canada (USA wins 4-2 PKs)
  • Costa Rica 2-3 Mexico

League A – Play-off:

  1. El Salvador 4-0 Jamaica
  2. Puerto Rico 1-0 Hait

League B: Dominican Republic, Honduras advance

The Dominican Republic earned a 1-nil victory over hosts Trinidad and Tobago on a goal from captain Kaylee Lainez in the 70’. Honduras became the second finalist after a 2-0 win over Guatemala, thanks to goals from Dennise Madrid (3’) and Daniela Rodriguez (29’).

In the play-off matches, Shanalee Smith had a double (4’, 16’) to power Belize past Suriname. Danika Antoine scored the match-winning goal in the 61’ as Barbados defeated Grenada.

League B – Semifinals:

  • Trinidad and Tobago 0-1 Dominican Republic
  • Guatemala 0-2 Honduras

League B – Play-off:

  • Cuba 0-2 Bermuda
  • Barbados 3-2 Grenada
  • Trinidad High Performance 0-1 Cayman Islands
  • Antigua and Barbuda 2-0 Curacao
  • Belize 2-1 Suriname

League C: Host Aruba in the Final

Hosts Aruba will have the chance of becoming champions on home soil after a 2-1 win over Guyana. Zyana Rogers scored a brace with goals in the 57’ and 65’.

With a brace from Amaya Emmanuel (10’, 70’+3’) and a goal from Makayla Joseph (68’), Saint Lucia defeated Bonaire to secure its place in the League C Final

The Finals Await on Sunday

The finals across all three leagues will be disputed on Sunday to determine this year’s champions of the 2024 Concacaf Girls’ U-15 Championship.
