Feyenoord revealed this afternoon that Jordan Lotomba has suffered a fracture in his lower leg. The right-back will therefore be out of action for the Rotterdam club for months. Julian Carranza is another expected to be sidelined for a while. He suffered a calf injury, which means he will not play again this calendar year.

Lotomba sustained the injury during a training session in the run-up to Feyenoord’s match with RKC Waalwijk. The Swiss international has since undergone successful surgery and will now work on his recovery.

While it is not known exactly how long Feyenoord will have to do without Lotomba, the club speaks of ‘months’ in their website’s statement.

For Carranza, the striker was already absent last Saturday against Fortuna Sittard, with his issues going back to the Champions League clash with Manchester City.

It was revealed that the Argentinian has returned to his home country to work on his rehabilitation. His absence is fortunately not too big a problem for Brian Priske, as Santiago Gimenez has already firmly re-entered the squad following his thigh problems.

Apart from all the negative injury news, Feyenoord also welcome positive updates. Ibrahim Osman has rejoined the group training. He is now also fully participating, although it is not yet known whether the Ghanaian will be in the match selection against RKC.

Quilindschy Hartman, Ayase Ueda, Hugo Bueno, and Jeyland Mitchell are all following individual recovery programmes following their respective absences.
