Feyenoord are banking on the arrival of Anass Salah-Eddine. The AS Roma left-back will be loaned to Rotterdam after Bjorn Meijer’s transfer fell through, according to Voetbal International.

The club from De Kuip have reportedly already expressed their interest in the 23-year-old to AS Roma, while according to insiders, the player has also had initial conversations with head coach Robin van Persie.

Salah-Eddine swapped FC Twente for Roma in January. The deal was worth around 10 million euros at the time, yet he hasn’t featured much in Italy so far.

Feyenoord are searching for a left-back following the transfer of Quilindschy Hartman to Burnley and the return of loanee Hugo Bueno to his parent club, Wolverhampton Wanderers. Currently, Gijs Smal remains the only left-back in the Rotterdam squad, after the transfer of Bjorn Meijer fell through.

Salah-Eddine fits Feyenoord’s profile, now that manager Van Persie has expressed a preference for Dutch players.
