Liverpool are set to end the summer transfer window in a similar fashion to how they started it. Absolutely chaotic.
After the recent deaprtures of the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Tyler Morton; attention has now turned back onto potential incomings.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool could be closing in on not one, but two new signings, and have even reached an agreement on personal terms with one of their targets.
“Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Marc Guehi! Giovanni Leoni is also keen on the move.”
“Negotiations underway with Palace for fee around £35m total package, deal could be done soon.”
“#LFC work on both Guehi and Leoni, NOT alternative as revealed today.”
Liverpool have been keen to add defensive reinforcements since Jarell Quansah’s £35m move to Bayer Leverkusen, which left Arne Slot with just three senior centre-back options.
Guehi has been top of that list all summer and the Reds are seemingly about to land their main target for the exact same price. It’s very hard to argue with that business!
The 25-year-old captained Crystal Palace in their penalty shootout victory over Liverpool in the FA Community Shield on Sunday.
Slot’s defensive plans don’t end there, as Romano reports. Liverpool are also making a move to sign 18-year-old defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma.
The teenager is expected to cost around the £30million mark and would add long-term foundations to Liverpool’s back line.
Expect this one to move quickly from now before Liverpool make one last push to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United in the final few weeks of the window.
