Namaso has reportedly been linked with a return to England after Birmingham City have shown interest in signing the former Reading man, via Birmingham Live.

With the Blues looking to further strengthen their attacking lineup and add to their already strong summer transfer window, Namaso could bring a wealth of experience playing at the top-level in Portugal as well as an air of versatility among Birmingham's frontline.

Being only 24-years-old and already having a taste of English football when coming through the ranks at Reading, Namaso can offer the Blues reinforcement in the attacking areas.

However, his signature would come with a heavy price tag as, according to Portuguese outlet Record, FC Porto want €10m for the forward, which would be a clear statement of intent if he was to join Birmingham City.

Namaso's versatility would "fit the bill" in Blues attack

Over the course of Namaso's career so far, the Cameroonian international has been well known for his ability to play in a wide range of positions, including striker, attacking midfield, and on the right wing.

Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie exclusively told Football League World what Namaso would bring to Birmingham's attack.

Hendrie said, "Obviously, there's interest in Namaso. He's a player that's had a spell at Reading, but he's 24 years of age."

"He can play in the 10 and can play as a striker. They've got a lot of reinforcement in that area, I think, but I know they have been looking for someone who can fit the bill of playing in that 10, who can have that bit more of a creative flair."

"You think this would be a real big signing for Birmingham on top of what they've bought already. I mean it just shows their intent and where they want to go this season, and that's to the Premier League."

"Spending the likes of €10m on a player, again, their recruitment has been spot on from last season up to now, so a really good signing and, as I say, he can play in a number of positions as well."

Namaso could add to an already very strong squad

Having already been very active in this summer's window in the way of players both coming and going, Birmingham have shown clear intent in the direction they want to go.

Having made the step back up to the Championship after taking League One by storm last season, the transfer window clock is ticking down for Blues boss Chris Davies, who has made it clear what area he wants to bolster.

Hendrie said, "It's no surprise really that Birmingham are trying to get a couple more bodies in the door. I do think that squad of players they have at the moment is really strong, particularly in the forward areas.

With €10m being the asking price for the forward, paying that fee would surely send danger signs to the rest of the Championship, having the likes of Namaso, Jay Stansfield, and Kyogo Furuhashi in their attacking armoury, just to name a few.
