Everton have already tabled an offer to Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi ahead of the summer transfer window, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Toffees have been keen to look at Championship players in recent years, recruiting the likes of Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison from EFL teams in recent years.

Ndidi could be their next addition - and he could end up being a fairly cheap signing considering the midfielder's contract at the King Power Stadium expires at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

The Nigerian has been a key part of Enzo Maresca's plans this season - and his contributions have helped the Foxes to secure a Premier League return at the first time of asking.

Their promotion win may boost their chances of retaining the midfielder, but the Foxes aren't in the best financial situation at this stage and may still need to raise funds before the end of June to avoid further financial breaches.

Having been charged during the latter stages of the season with a breach of profit and sustainability rules, Leicester won't want to find themselves in a position where they are constantly punished in the coming years.

The Toffees don't seem to be in the best financial situation either - and they may decide to utilise the free agent and loan markets heavily to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

But at this stage, Sean Dyche's side look set to remain in the top flight after managing to fight back against their points deductions, potentially handing them a boost in their quest to recruit Ndidi.

Journalist Tavolieri has revealed that Ndidi has received an offer from the Toffees, as they look to beat other teams to the Nigerian's signature.

The same reporter has claimed that plenty of other teams are interested in the Leicester man and with this in mind, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him receive plenty more offers before he makes a key decision on his future.

His mind, according to Tavolieri, is yet to be made up with the Championship season not even finished yet.

Wilfred Ndidi should consider Leicester City stay

Ndidi has been at the King Power Stadium for a considerable amount of time now.

And there's a real chance that he could win plenty of game time next season, especially if fellow key midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall leaves the club.

However, it would be a surprise if the Foxes were prepared to offer him a huge salary, especially with their financial situation in mind.

Ndidi needs to weigh up his options because of that - but the midfielder could get more of a chance to shine at his current club than at another team.
