With Euro 2024 set to kick off in just over a month in Germany, the race for players to show their form in an effort to be picked for their national sides is well and truly on.

The deadline for national teams to put forward the squad they will take to Germany is on the 7th of June.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente will have some tough decisions to make with regards to who will line up for La Selección, especially with regard to forwards.

El Desmarque has highlighted the problem that the Spain coach faces, with many of the country’s top forward picks either out of form or struggling for fitness.

Spanish captain Álvaro Morata, despite having a strong record of 20 goals and 4 assists this season, hasn’t scored in over 100 days, since last netting for Atlético Madrid on March 3rd.

Real Madrid striker Joselu has failed to score in 3 months, but with 13 goals and 3 assists it seems likely he will make the trip to Germany.

Barcelona winger Ferran Torres hasn’t scored since January 21st, when he scored a hat-trick against Real Betis, and has struggled with injury for much of 2024 so far.

However, not all of Spain’s attackers have been struggling for form, as Lamine Yamal has been performing at a high level for Barcelona, and Nico Williams has been putting in strong showings for Athletic Club, winning the Copa del Rey along the way.

Other options include Gerard Moreno, Mikel Oyarzabal, Dani Olmo and Pablo Sarabia, but none of these names have set the world alight for their clubs either.

Who would you like to see line up for La Selección when Euro 2024 kicks off in Germany?
