Emerson set to arrive in Marseille ahead of €1m move from West Ham | OneFootball

Several weeks have passed since Quentin Merlin completed a move away from Olympique de Marseille, completing a permanent switch to Stade Rennais.

OM have bided their time in finding a replacement, however, with just hours remaining in the transfer window, that replacement is now on the verge of touching down in southern France. Emerson Palmieri (31) is set to join the Ligue 1 club, as per a report from Foot Mercato.

The Italy international is set to travel to Marseille this evening before completing his move to OM. It had been touted that Emerson would terminate his West Ham United contract before making the move, however, ultimately, Marseille look set to pay a fixed fee of €700,000, plus an extra €300,000 in bonuses.

A low-cost option, the left-back also has the advantage of having already acquired Ligue 1 experience during his time on loan at Olympique Lyonnais, whilst he is also operational and ready to go after the international break.
