According to Foot Mercato, Eintracht Frankfurt are targeting Anthony Modeste (35) as a replacement for Randal Kolo Muani (24). The former Nantes forward completed a late move to PSG on deadline day. Modeste is a free agent and without a club following the expiry of his contract with Borussia Dortmund in June.

The 35-year-old had a mixed spell with Dortmund but is no stranger to the Bundesliga having played in the German top flight for Köln and Hoffenheim before he signed with BVB in 2022 for €5m. The French striker made 28 appearances for the Black and Yellow in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and assisting 1.

Frankfurt didn’t plan to sell Randal Kolo Muani without signing a replacement, but it was the French international’s determination that forced them to crack and stick to their promise. The Bundesliga club tried to sign Hugo Ekitiké (21) from PSG but had three contract offers rejected by the former Reims forward. With the transfer window now closed, Frankfurt are now forced to look in the free agent market for a replacement for the 24-year-old.
