At 13:00 CEST on Sunday 17 August, Eintracht play their first competitive game of the 2025/26 season against fifth-division side FV Engers. The DFB Cup first round-clash is being played at the Stadion Oberwerth in Koblenz. Clear favourites With four divisions separating the two teams, it is no surprise whatsoever that Dino Toppmöller’s charges head into the tie as red-hot favourites. Engers, who play in green and white, kicked off their campaign in the fifth-tier Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar last month, losing 3-1 at SC Idar-Oberstein in their opening game before beating SV Auersmacher 2-0 in their most recent encounter last Saturday. Eagles fans out in force

“This is the biggest game in our club’s history,” head coach Julian Feit said ahead of the contest at the 10,176-capacity Stadion Oberwerth. Plenty of Eintracht fans are set to make the trip, having been allocated around 4,600 tickets by their hosts, but all that matters for Toppmöller, his players and the travelling Eagles supporters on Sunday afternoon, is reaching the second round.
