Eintracht Frankfurt and PSG still apart in negotiations for Hugo Ekitike

Eintracht Frankfurt are continuing their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike but the two clubs are still apart in their negotiations for the Frenchman.

BILD are reporting that Eintracht are currently offering between €15m and €18m for Ekitike, but PSG are demanding more, which is the reason as to why there is no agreement between the two clubs. This is despite the 21-year-old wanting to move to the Hessen club, with Ekitike also agreeing to forego a percentage of his salary.

Ekitike currently earns around €7m a year and Frankfurt are only willing to offer €2.5-€3m. Mario Götze and Kevin Trapp currently earn €3.5m, whilst Robin Koch and Ellyes Skhiri earn €3m. Because of this sporting director Markus Krösche is unwilling to upset the wage structure to sign Ekitike.

As reported via our colleagues at Get French Football NewsPSG are also looking to sell Ekitike. The player was ostracised by the Parisien side after refusing to move the other way in a swap deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani in a player-plus-cash deal last summer.

Despite signing Saša Kalajdžić on loan from Wolves, Eintracht’s pursuit for another forward doesn’t stop there. Although Ekitike appears to be their primary target, it’s reported that Stade Rennes attacker Arnaud Kalimuendo also wants to join the Bundesliga side with talks ongoing between parties.
