Edinson Cavaniâs mother has stated that her son is intent on a move to AtlĂ©tico Madrid, while also expressing her anger at Paris Saint-Germainâs handling of the striker.
In an interview with AS, Berta GĂłmez also revealed that the Uruguayan has been interested in a move to Diego Simeoneâs team for years.
The 32-year old is reported to have asked to leave the French champions after losing his place in Thomas Tuchelâs side to Mauro Icardi.
Cavaniâs mother, GĂłmez said: âItâs complicated, but he wants to play at AtlĂ©tico.
âIf not now, then in the summer surely. But it does not depend on my son now, but on Paris Saint-Germain and AtlĂ©tico Madrid.â
PSG are believed to have rejected three bids from Atleti for their wantaway striker.
Cavani has made just nine appearances for PSG this season, accumulating just 330 minutes, and GĂłmez is incensed with how the Parisians have treated her son.
âI do not understand that they want him to stay and then play six minutes.
âThey are not behaving well with him, with everything he has given PSG in the seven years he has been there.
âNow he is angry, because he does not understand that they put obstacles in the way of him leaving.â
Cavani has scored 198 goals in 293 appearances in his seven years at the club since his âŹ55m move from Napoli in 2013.
