Manchester City’s injury issues have only partially subsided ahead of Sunday’s showdown with Arsenal.

The Premier League holders took part in an open training session on Thursday, which failed to feature both John Stones and Kyle Walker after their knocks on England duty.

Centre-back Stones went off against Belgium with a thigh problem after Walker had tweaked his hamstring in his country’s defeat to Brazil.

Pep Guardiola will update fans on their condition in Friday’s pre-game press conference but there were positive signs elsewhere for City.

Ederson was spotted in the training session having hurt himself in conceding the penalty in the recent draw at Liverpool, before missing the win over Newcastle and Brazil’s game over the international period.

Also appearing were Kevin De Bruyne, who has been contending with a groin injury, and Manuel Akanji after he picked up a knock on Switzerland duty.
