Watford have secured the signing of goalkeeper Maduka Okoye from Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam.

The Nigerian will sign a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Hornets.

The 22-year-old, who is 6ft 6in and has one clean sheet this term, will spend the rest of the season on loan with the Dutch team.

Okoye has also played 13 times for Nigeria in his career, and is joining up with his international teammates at present.

The German-born shot stopper played for Fortuna Dusseldorf and Jong Sparta earlier in his career.
