Discussion with Hoeneß: Hansi Flick is open to a Bayern comeback! | OneFootball

Following the cancellation of Julian Nagelsmann, the search for a coach at FC Bayern is entering the next round. Even though Max Eberl has emphasised that Munich are in the final stages, it is currently completely unclear who will take over from Thomas Tuchel in the summer. According to the latest reports, Hansi Flick would be ready for a return to the German record champions.

As BILD reported on Sunday, there are only two concrete names left on Bayern’s coaching list: Unai Emery and Roberto De Zerbi. According to the newspaper, Max Eberl is leaning towards Emery, who is currently under contract at Aston Villa. The problem: FCB would again have to pay a transfer fee in the millions for the Spaniard.

Hansi Flick would be a much cheaper option in the summer. The former successful Bayern coach (November 2019 to June 2021) is still without a club. According to the Abendzeitung München newspaper, Flick would be ready for a comeback at Säbener Straße. The 59-year-old threw in the towel in Munich in the summer of 2021 after a months-long power struggle with former sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Flick has reconciled with Hoeneß

Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn are no longer active at FC Bayern. The strained relationship with club patron Uli Hoeneß is also no longer an obstacle. According to AZ, there was a discussion between Hoeneß and Flick.

During his first term in Munich, the former national coach has shown that he is capable of keeping the Munich star ensemble in check. Under Flick, Bayern won the treble and also impressed in the second half of the 2019/20 season.

However, Bayern are not the only option for Flick. He is also rumoured to be flirting with a move abroad. FC Barcelona in particular have recently been linked with Flick.
