According to Fabrizio Romano, Derek Cornelius (26) has completed his medical ahead of a move to Marseille from Malmo. The Canadian international is set to be the latest signing to arrive at the Stade Vélodrome since the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi.
Fabrice Hawkins reports that the Malmo defender is set to cost Les Olympiens a fee in the region of €3.5m. Personal terms have already been agreed between the Ligue 1 club and Cornelius. The 26-year-old is now one step closer from making his move to OM following the completion of his medical.
Cornelius is set to sign a contract with Marseille lasting until 2028. Les Phocéens were not the only Ligue 1 club interested in the Malmo centre-back. Brest and Lille also showed an interest in signing the Canadian but OM have now won the race for his signature.
