Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not be boarding his flight to Marseille this Tuesday, July 22, 2025. The Gabonese striker has postponed his arrival in the Phocaean city due to some remaining administrative formalities. However, his move to OM is still on track.

Aubameyang will not be landing at Marignane airport tonight as initially planned. The Gabonese forward, currently a free agent, was expected to join Marseille to undergo his medical and sign a two-year contract with Olympique de Marseille. But according to reports from Footmercato, his flight was canceled at the last minute. The reason for this delay is linked to the player’s administrative situation.

"But a few formalities still need to be sorted out before his arrival is finalized, which is absolutely not in doubt (...). His arrival is just postponed according to our information," wrote Sebastien Denis.

The former Arsenal captain is keeping Marseille fans waiting, as they eagerly anticipate the return of their 2023/24 season hero. Aubameyang has already confirmed his desire to return to La Canebière after turning down several offers from Saudi Arabia. The 36-year-old goal machine is now expected in the coming days.
