The England midfielder has already been ruled out of their clash with Huddersfield. He will aim to return to the XI by the time Spurs face Manchester City in late October.

Alli initially injured his hamstring in England’s 2-1 Nations League defeat to Spain earlier this month.

As a result, the 22-year-old missed important matches against Liverpool and Inter Milan, both of which Tottenham lost.

Alli returned in the 78th minute of their 2-1 win over Brighton and scored in Tottenham’s Carabao Cup win over Watford on Wednesday.

Since then, Alli has re-aggravated the injury and is also expected to miss England’s upcoming fixtures against Croatia and Spain on 12 and 15 October, respectively.

The injury comes at a very inconvenient time for Spurs, as Christian Eriksen will also miss out this weekend.

Eriksen has an abdominal injury and is also a doubt for the Barça clash.
