  • Millwall, under Neil Harris, have shown promise in recent games, but cannot relax at this stage in their quest to avoid relegation.
  • Birmingham City, also at risk of being relegated, need points on the board.
  • David Prutton believes the hosts could come out on top at The Den.

Millwall will be looking to build on their excellent start under Neil Harris, by registering another three points tomorrow afternoon when they host Birmingham City.

The Lions were in real danger before Harris' return, with Joe Edwards failing to make his mark during his time at The Den, but they have managed to secure some more promising results recently.

Recording seven points from nine in their last three league games, with an excellent away victory at Southampton aiding their cause, they currently sit two points above the drop zone.

Considering they are still in danger though, the Lions can't afford to rest on their laurels at this point, as they prepare for a potentially crucial clash.

Birmingham are also in the relegation mix at this point and without Tony Mowbray on the sidelines, Blues will need to do everything they can to mitigate the effects of that and guide themselves to safety.

That's not going to be an easy task, but with the quality of players they have at their disposal, the Midlands club will be hopeful that they can finish above the dotted line.

At this stage, they have done just enough, but their current points tally won't be enough for them in their quest for survival. The same applies to the Lions.

Prutton predicts: Millwall v Birmingham City

This game is a tough one to call considering both sides are in similar league positions and are both desperate to secure three points.

Some will fancy Birmingham to win considering Blues have managed to successfully battle against relegation in recent years, with the Lions not needing to in recent seasons.

But Prutton believes the hosts will win at The Den, predicting a 2-1 victory and writing: "Millwall have picked up seven points in three games under Neil Harris.

"They probably made the change at the right time, because if they stayed on the same course they were on before they’d be buried in the bottom three right now.

"Birmingham might well be heading that way. They haven’t won any of their three games in Tony Mowbray’s absence from the dugout, and that will be a cause for concern.

"I think that could become four at The Den."

Millwall have a huge amount of momentum

Winning two and drawing one of their three games under Harris, the Lions will have plenty of confidence at the moment.

Harris seems to have come in at the right time - and if they can continue to get points on the board - they won't have to worry about relegation for too much longer.

But they are still in a dangerous position and this is why they must build on recent results.

With the momentum they have, the Lions should be able to do that tomorrow afternoon and the home advantage should help them.

But Birmingham can't be underestimated - and no complacency can slip into their game. If it does, it could be punished.
