Crystal Palace have taken an interest in Norwich City midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to Give Me Sport.

The same report has revealed that he is on a number of Premier League clubs' radars ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Eagles' interest comes as no real surprise, considering they have utilised the EFL market to their advantage in the market.

Eberechi Eze could make them a huge profit at Selhurst Park after developing well following his move to Queens Park Rangers.

Ex-Reading star Michael Olise is another player who has established himself as a real star in the English capital - and it wouldn't be a surprise to see former Blackburn Rovers man Adam Wharton become a real success there before potentially being sold on once more.

At this point though, it's unclear whether midfielder Sara will be competing in the top flight or the Championship next term, with the Brazilian currently sitting in the play-off places at Carrow Road under David Wagner.

Regardless of this, Norwich are set to be in a strong negotiating position with Sara this summer, with the player's contract not expiring until the summer of 2026.

Not only does he have two years left on his contract, but the club also have the option to extend his deal by a further year, which means any time wanting to secure his signature will have to cough up a sizeable fee to lure him away from Norfolk.

Palace aren't the only top-flight team looking at Sara at this stage.

AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also believed to be taking a closer look at the midfielder during the final weeks of the 2023/24 campaign.

Norwich may be on course to secure a place in the play-offs, but if they don't succeed in their quest for promotion, it's believed that he could potentially secure a move away from Carrow Road during the summer transfer window.

In terms of his potential price tag, £25-£30m could be enough to lure him away from his current side, according to Football Insider's report back in March.

Regardless of which division they find themselves in next term, they are in a good negotiating position ahead of the summer.

With his contract effectively not expiring for another three years, clubs will know that they will need to pay a huge amount to sign him.

The number of sides that have taken an interest in him may also push up his price tag, especially if there's a bidding war.

Promotion would strengthen Norwich's negotiating position.

This is because the player would probably be keener to stay if they are competing in the top tier.

However, the fact they tied him down to a long-term deal when he joined should pay dividends for them and if they do decide to sell him, they could reinvest a decent chunk of that money back into the first team via transfers.
