Sports journalist Paul Brown feels that Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher will get "even better" after his positive start to the 2021/22 season.

What did Brown say about Gallagher?

The youngster joined the Eagles from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal back in July, and has already caught Brown's eye.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Brown heaped praise on the 21-year-old for his start to life in south London. He said: “I love Conor Gallagher, I think he’s a great player. And, I think he’s going to go on to be an even better player.”

What are Gallagher's stats so far this season?

Gallagher was unavailable for Palace's opening game of the season as it came against his parent club, but he has certainly made his mark in the three matches that have followed.

He played a crucial role in securing his side a point against West Ham last month, scoring two expertly-taken goals, and then backed that up last weekend by delivering an assist in Palace's first win of the season, with the team easing past Tottenham 3-0.

According to WhoScored, he has completed nine tackles and made five key passes so far this term - these numbers see him rank inside the top two in both categories when compared with the rest of the Palace squad.

Is Gallagher Palace's best signing of the summer?

Palace had a busy transfer window this summer, spending over £66m on new players. Gallagher appears to be the pick of the new recruits at the club.

Odsonne Edouard made a stunning start to his career in England on Saturday, bagging a quickfire brace, but it is too early to judge whether he will be a major success in the Premier League.

Special mentions should also go to Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen who have helped Patrick Vieira's men keep two clean sheets in their last three top-flight fixtures.

However, Gallagher has been in a league of his own. He has received an average WhoScored rating of 8.02 this season - higher than any of his teammates - and with each passing game it looks like sporting director Dougie Freedman pulled off a masterstroke by getting him over to Palace this year.

If Brown's prediction comes true, and Gallagher does develop his game even more, Palace fans could be in for a treat over the next eight months.
