According to Voetbal International, Richonell Margaret is on his way from RKC Waalwijk to Go Ahead Eagles. Both clubs have reportedly reached an agreement in principle on the transfer of the 24-year-old winger, who will sign a multi-year contract in Deventer.

The outlet explain that FC Groningen, SC Heerenveen and NAC Breda were all after him. Heerenveen and NAC were ultimately ruled out because of RKC’s asking price. Groningen seemed to have the best offer for a while, until Go Ahead entered the scene. Margaret apparently already spoke to trainer Melvin Boel last week.

Margaret’s period in Waalwijk comes to an end after two years. RKC signed the left-sided talent from TOP Oss in 2023.

Before that, he was active in the youth academy of Ajax, Vitesse and AZ. For RKC, he made 61 appearances in which he scored 11 times and registered eight assists. In that time, he also became an international for Suriname, with whom he was recently active at the Gold Cup.
