Midfielder Petar Sucic looked out of sorts in Inter Milan’s sputtering 1-2 Serie A loss against Udinese yesterday.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that playing on the left of midfield didn’t suit the 21-year-old.

Petar Sucic got the start for the second match in a row as Inter took on Udinese yesterday.

The Croatian international is thus far the only summer signing to start for Inter in Serie A.

Against Torino, Sucic had shone brightly. The 21-year-old put in a man-of-the-match-worthy display with an assist and several eye-catching tackles.

Therefore, Inter will have hoped that Sucic could repeat those heroics against Udinese.

However, Udinese posed an entirely different challenge in midfield for Sucic and Inter.

The Friulani took an organized, highly physical approach to deny the Nerazzurri space centrally.

And Sucic in particular looked to be struggling to cope.

There were a handful of moments of quality from the Croat. He managed to get up the pitch and impact the match in the penalty area on a few occasions.

However, on the whole Sucic looked slow of foot and of mind, and gave the ball away in too many instances.

Furthermore, the right-footed Sucic was not helped by the fact that he was playing on the left of the midfield trio. Too often, he looked uncomfortable quickly receiving and releasing the ball.
