Former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is vouching for a fellow Blancos legend, to take up the managerial reins at Saudi outfit Al-Nassr.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Zinedine Zidane as the player in question.

Fresh off an underwhelming start to the new campaign, the board at Al-Nassr are understood to be giving consideration to a change on the bench.

Luis Castro is under increasing pressure, with a list of potential replacements for the Portuguese already being drawn up.

And one name being taken under increasing consideration, it is understood, is that of the aforementioned Zinedine Zidane.

As per Marca:

‘One of the coaches who has appeared on the list to succeed Luis Castro is the former coach and footballer of Real Madrid.’

Cristiano Ronaldo, for one, is a leading advocate for Zidane’s appointment in Riyadh, with the 38-year-old of the opinion that his former manager could be the man to help Al-Nassr break Al-Hilal’s dominance in Saudi Arabia.

With another Real Madrid icon, in Fernando Hierro, acting as sporting director at the club, a move for Zidane, in turn, cannot be ruled out.

It remains to be seen whether the ex-midfielder himself would be interested in a Saudi switch, though, amid the understanding that Zidane’s dream managerial landing spot remains the France national team.
