Craig Pawson will take charge of Manchester City’s visit to Wolves on Saturday, the Premier League have announced.

Manchester City, who suffered their first defeat of the season with a 1-0 loss to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, will look to extend their winning start to the Premier League campaign against Wolves this weekend.

Pep Guardiola’s side travel to Molineux on Saturday, to face a Wolves side who have won just one league game this season and were dumped out of the League Cup by Ipswich Town in midweek.

Matheus Nunes completed a Deadline Day move to Manchester City from Wolves earlier this month, and the Portugal midfielder could feature against his former club, having started recent wins against Red Star Belgrade and Nottingham Forest.

Manchester City have won their last six matches against Wolves, bouncing back from a torrid previous record of one win in five matches between 2017 and 2019.

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick the last time the two teams met, as three quick-fire goals helped the Sky Blues to three points at the Etihad Stadium.

Ahead of Saturday’s clash, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for Manchester City’s match against Wolves.

Match Referee

Craig Pawson has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s match against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

The 44-year-old, who has officiated six matches so far this season, took charge of 39 games last year – showing 156 yellow cards and three red cards.

Pawson last took charge of Manchester City in August, when Pep Guardiola’s side beat Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor on the opening weekend of the campaign.

Assistant Referees

Pawson will be accompanied at Molineux by Assistant Referees Darren Cann and Marc Perry.

Video Assistant Referees

Overviewing proceedings will be Video Assistant Referee Robert Jones and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Neil Davies.

Fourth Official

James Bell has been named as the Fourth Official.

The referee will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Gary O’Neil and Pep Guardiola.
