Manchester City take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon in the first of two meetings between the top-flight challengers of the last two seasons.
Pep Guardiola and his players are coming into the clash with Mikel Arteta’s side on a strong run of form in the Premier League, winning all of their opening four matches to lead the top-flight table coming into matchday five.
Arsenal also remain unbeaten this campaign with three wins to their name, but dropped two points during a home draw against Brighton & Hove Albion, as a 1-1 scoreline was ultimately marred by Declan Rice’s red card.
City will have little time to reflect on what happens during Sunday afternoon’s meeting with Arsenal, kicking off just 49 hours later in a Carabao Cup third round tie with Watford, before a lunchtime clash with Newcastle United awaits the following weekend.
Both sides have their own concerns on the injury front, with Kevin De Bruyne a doubt heading into the clash with unknowns surrounding his availability to feature at all. Martin Odegaard is ruled out for the visitors with an ankle injury.
