City in Australia: Travelling squad announced

Gareth Taylor has confirmed a squad of 23 players that will travel to Australia for this summer’s pre-season tour.

City set off to Western Australia this afternoon ahead of next week’s Perth International Football Cup.

We will play fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Leicester City at HBF Park at 11:15 (UK) on Wednesday 28 August, before facing either Paris Saint-Germain or West Ham United on Sunday 1 September.

Taylor will have many of his senior stars to pick from in Australia, as we continue to build towards the start of the 2024/25 Barclays Women's Super League campaign.

While the bulk of the travelling party will fly from the UK on Tuesday, six players who took part in the Olympics will join the group in Australia a few days into the trip.

Laia Aleixandri, Mary Fowler, Aoba Fujino, Yui Hasegawa, Alanna Kennedy and Ayaka Yamashita will arrive in Perth later this week.

There is also opportunity for Academy prospects Sacha Lewis, Lily Murphy, Eve O'Carroll and Codie Thomas to impress.
