Chivas defender Carlos Cisneros said he believes the club’s supporters can be “a little harsh” following his team’s 2-1 loss to Atlas to open their 2022 Liguilla campaign.

Chivas dropped the first leg result on Thursday night at home against local rivals Atlas, with Cisneros acknowledging that the swaying of supporter sentiment is an “occupational hazard” that comes with being the “biggest team in Mexico.”

He added: “I’m very unsatisfied (with the result). We could have done more. It depended on us and I think we have that little thorn in our side (now).

“I think I know what it means, and the only thing that comes to my mind is to win, to take the next step, to (earn a spot in) the semi-final.”

Chivas now look toward the return leg of this 2022 Clausura quarter-final clash, to be played at the Estadio Jalisco on Sunday (7PM ET).
