Pachuca have booked their spot in the Champions Cup final after finding a way past Club América over two legs.
Scorers: Macías 12′, Deossa 14′ ; Martín 23′
After a scintillating first-leg, the tie was finely poised for the return to Pachuca, and the second-leg did not disappoint.
The hosts were first to strike when Miguel Macías and Nelson Deossa found the back of the net just two minutes apart, stunning América inside the opening 15.
The prestigious visitors responded well however, pulling one back through Henry Martín after he was left totally unmarked in the Pachuca bench.
América pushed to pull themselves level on the night, which would have given them the lead via the away goals rule, but the Pachuca rearguard simply pulled out all the stops to keep the ball out of their net.
A late sending off for Israel Reyes was the final nail in the América coffin, putting an end to any late turnaround.
