Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson (24) is set to join Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the season with a mandatory purchase clause, according to a report from L’Équipe. The Senegalese international attacker was expected to join the Bundesliga champions on loan over the weekend, only for the Premier League outfit to pull the plug on the deal after Liam Delap sustained an injury in their 2-0 victory against Fulham.

Despite never leaving Bavaria, Jackson will finally get his wish as his loan move now looks to go through. The 24-year-old was told to return to London, but insisted on joining Bayern and will now be unveiled as their latest recruit.

The German club will pay an initial loan fee of €16.5m for Jackson’s services. Additionally, when the mandatory purchase option is triggered at the end of the season, Bayern will owe Chelsea an additional €80m. The Blues will also receive a percentage of any sale.
