Chelsea fans were celebrating three wins in key areas last night despite not even playing in The Champions League when two Premier League rivals were.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal were dumped out of Europe last night, and that means good news for Chelsea, at least in two respects.

Bayern Munich beat Arsenal 1-0 in the quarter finals last night and Real Madrid beat Manchester City on penalties at the same stage of the competition.

Sources: Manager names on Chelsea’s shortlist to replace Mauricio Pochettino revealed!

City going through to penalties means that they will be considerably more fatigued than Chelsea for the big FA Cup semi-final match on Saturday evening with The Blues having much more recovery time after their 6-0 win against Everton on Monday night.

This is absolutely massive and should not be taken lightly, but of course will far from guarantee a victory, especially against a big side like City.

Arsenal going out means more, it means that Chelsea will now officially be the only London club participating in the Club World Cup in 2025, and they are still the only London club to win the Champions League after Arsenal crashed out!

As I’ve written before on this site, as Chelsea are right now, we take the rare wins we get this season and these are certainly some of them!

Chelsea’s game against City on Saturday is now huge though, as it will be their most realistic chance of European football with places now less after the English contingent is dumped out, thus losing automatic qualifying places for Premier League sides.

It’s now become a huge game for both teams, and Chelsea fans will be starting to dream that they might actually have a chance of doing something on Saturday and getting to another final.
